POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The BSA Analyst assists in the implementation and administration of all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance for all non-traditional programs within the Republic Processing Group division. The position performs various quality controls reviews and monitoring pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering Program, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program compliance. The BSA Analyst will also help ensure compliance with the bank’s due diligence and enhanced due diligence policy, and review alerts and exceptions generated by the bank’s electronic transaction monitoring system to identify potential suspicious activity including money laundering, terrorist financing, and/or other illegal activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ BSA/Compliance/Fraud experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in Word, Excel, and Internet applications required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review Exceptions and Flags (Alerts) in order to provide a comprehensive analysis of reviewed activity. Including but not limited to, reviewing customer profiles, prior monitoring unit reviews, past investigations, account documentation and online research.
  • Perform reviews for potential OFAC or Section 314(a) matches generated by various surveillance delivery channels to make a determination if further investigation is necessary.
  • Assist in the monitoring of account activity for suspicious patterns and activity, conduct suspicious activity report investigations, high-risk customer/account reviews, and may assist with information gathering for the filing of a SAR when necessary.
  • Escalate suspicious activity to BSA/AML officer in a timely manner to facilitate the appropriate SAR reporting requirements.
  • Participate in compliance training and additional continuing education to maintain specialized knowledge and practical understanding of all BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC compliance regulations. Identify new and revised laws and regulations impacting bank operations and the BSA Program.
  • Support the BSA/AML Officer while working with internal & external auditors and regulatory examiners by providing full cooperation and timely delivery of requested documentation and information.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks for the department as directed.
  • Assist with maintaining records of all required BSA documentation within regulatory and Bank retention guidelines.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required.
